We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead our estimating department. This role involves setting goals, improving profitability, and ensuring efficient operations while fostering team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and owners to establish and review yearly, quarterly, and monthly estimating goals.
- Analyze hit ratios and strategically determine profitable bids.
- Oversee staff levels and coordinate training for the estimating team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and follow up on bid results.
- Review bids for completeness and accuracy; define scope, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Create an estimator handbook and enforce standard procedures.
- Maintain statistics on job bids and report to the Commercial Operations Manager.
- Provide training on bid policies and relevant software (e.g., Accubid, BlueBeam).
- Lead weekly estimator meetings to assign jobs and review performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or relevant experience estimating in an electrical contracting environment.
- Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience; with at least 5 years in a senior or lead estimator role.
- Proficient in estimating software, particularly Accubid Anywhere.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills.
- $120k-$135k
- $10,000 sign-on bonus (conditions apply)
