This is a newly created, critical role as the company’s first dedicated in-house legal support professional.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and independent Paralegal to serve as the backbone of our legal operations. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s contract lifecycle, mitigating day-to-day legal risk, and supporting leadership on compliance matters. The ideal candidate has significant experience in construction, litigation support, or corporate law.
Note: This is a non-attorney position. The Paralegal will work directly with our leadership team and external General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle for all vendors, clients, subcontractors, and master service agreements (MSAs).
Conduct initial review and redlining of construction-related contracts (e.g., AIA documents, subcontracts) to flag non-standard terms, indemnities, payment schedules, and insurance requirements for attorney review.
Draft, review, and issue routine non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and standard vendor agreements.
Maintain and organize the company's contract database and compliance calendar (e.g., lien deadlines, expiration dates).
Ensure all contracts are reviewed in accordance with the Company-Wide Contract Review Policy.
Act as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel, ensuring efficient coordination and communication.
Manage corporate governance documents, including minute books, resolutions, and state filings.
Organize and maintain legal files related to project disputes, regulatory compliance, and personnel issues.
Assist with the management of legal demands, including initial intake, factual investigation, and document collection for discovery.
Monitor and track potential construction liens, bond claims, and collections matters.
Prepare detailed summaries of legal matters, timelines, and facts for attorney review.
Qualifications & Experience
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program, or a Bachelor’s degree combined with comparable legal experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in a construction firm, corporate legal department, or a law firm specializing in construction or corporate litigation.
Deep familiarity with construction documents, including change orders, subcontracts, and lien/bond procedures (Florida experience is a strong plus).
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in contract management software or document management systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and prioritize competing tasks with minimal supervision.
Compensation & Benefits
$55,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with construction and corporate experience).
